The TMU Safe House provides free and confidential emotional support and assistance with respect to security, academic, financial, and short-term housing concerns. This is for students who are at immediate risk of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, fleeing unsafe or intolerable living conditions, or having been made suddenly homeless as a result of compelling or extreme circumstances. To access them, contact the Centre for Student Development and Counselling indicating that you are seeking safe house support. Depending on your needs, you may receive support from the house and/or given community resources.

Distress Centres provides 24/7 support to individuals in their community who are at risk and at their most vulnerable. They provide crisis support, emotional support, suicide prevention and intervention. Their services are available through a hotline, online chat, and text (multilingual). They also offer face-to-face individual as well as group support and counselling to those who have lost a loved one to suicide or homicide and are navigating the aftermath.

The Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Care Centre (SA/DVCC) is a comprehensive service that assists women, men, and trans people, over the age of 14, who are victims/survivors of sexual harassment assault and domestic/intimate partner violence. For sexual assault pertaining to children or youth under 14, please contact the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) program at 416-813-6275. They have 7 mobile sites. They are a team of Registered Nurses (RN’s) available 24/7, no appointments are needed. They provide crisis support, assessment and documentation of assault history and injuries, Sexual Assault Evidence Kit, testing and treatment for STIs, emergency contraception options, drug testing for drugs that may have been used in the assault, risk and safety planning, and community resource referrals. They will also help with police reports.

Male survivors of sexual abuse can access specialized services, including: referrals to other appropriate community support services to meet other long-term needs that clients may have; a 24/7 crisis and referral hotline; individual and group counselling; peer support; and telephone and online counselling.

Provides support to TMU community members affected by sexual violence. You can access support if the sexual violence happened on- or off-campus, or if you were subjected to sexual violence before you came to TMU. Consent Comes First provides various supports including referrals to counselling and medical services; safety planning; academic considerations and workplace accommodations; self-care resources; advocacy; navigating resources. They also go through reporting and complaints procedures and assist you with making an informed decision about next steps if you choose to report to authorities within the university or to the police. You can report sexual assaults through Consent Comes First. They also have a group for masc. identifying (male identifying) survivors.

They provide free and confidential counselling for all TMU students. Their counselling services are provided by a team of professional counsellors who offer support for students regarding a variety of mental health issues. They offer individual counselling, group counselling, crisis support, community resources and referrals, and mental health outreach and education.

Good2Talk provides free and confidential support services for post-secondary students in Ontario. Good2Talk can support students through a wide range of issues that may be impacting their mental health and well-being, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, academic stress, personal or family relationships, loneliness, financial concerns and other challenges facing students transitioning to post-secondary.

The Clinic provides medical and counselling services in all areas of sexual health to men/trans clients and women/trans clients. The women/trans clinic provides birth control, pregnancy testing, abortion referrals, STI and HIV testing and counselling and other services related to women’s sexual and reproductive health. The men/trans clinic specializes in STI and HIV testing and counselling. Testing is done at the ministry of health laboratory and through a private lab. Treatments for most STIs are free and are provided by the Ministry.

Inclusive multidisciplinary services include primary medical care for all women from the age of 16.

They provide a variety of programs for youth in mental wellness, recreation, and job skills. Also provide child care and promote healthy childhood development. As well they provide a four-year education and employment program for single mothers, providing wraparound, holistic support through housing, child care, counselling, tuition paid college education, career track internships and job search support, women have access to the stability and support they need to restart their life. They provide community programs for newcomers to Canada, a seniors care program for mental health and health care support. They also provide the opportunity for young people, seniors, newcomers, people with disabilities, psychiatric survivors and people with a long history of homelessness to thrive in safe and affordable housing. Walk-in counselling is also provided.
